The New Parks Cruising Association is a club for people interested in sailing and motor boating at sea. It was founded for past students of RYA cruising courses that were held as evening classes at New Parks College in Leicester. Membership is open to any person with an interest in boating, from beginners to old salts and those who charter. Most members live in the Leicester area, but we do have members from other parts of the country.
The Association organise club night talks, boating rallies, social events and publish a yearly magazine called Broad Reach.
Members meet on the third Tuesday in each month at The Royal Oak, 35 Main Street, Kirby Muxloe, Leicester, LE9 2AN from September through to April. Talks start at 7:30pm and usually finish by around 9:00pm. The room and bar are open from 7:00pm. The programme is interesting and varied and mostly has a sailing theme. We are always pleased to welcome guests. If you are interested please come along and meet us.
We organise a series of sailing and motor boating rallies on the Solent and Norfolk Broads throughout the year.
Every year we organise a meal at a venue in Leicestershire. This gives all our members, both active sailors and those retired from the sport, an opportunity to meet. Guests are welcome at this event.
